Alana Serfaty

She/Her
Trauma Informed Psychotherapist
LCSW-C, RYT-200

Alana Serfaty is a licensed clinical therapist with over seven years in the field of social work. Alana studied psychology before pursuing her master's in social work, as she always had an interest in human behavior. However, after initially concentrating in mental health during grad school, she switched over to macro social work and pursued a career in non profits, working with detained immigrants and Title I schools. Alana returned to mental health in 2020 when she first became licensed, and found that her background in macro social work - broader issues that affect communities, especially people of color - was instrumental in both her understanding of human behavior and her ability to help clients in private practice.

Aside from Alana's professional and academic pursuits, she has a personal background in meditation, yoga (which she used to teach in San Diego), spirituality, functional medicine, manifestation and self-exploration, which has allowed her to have a well-rounded and holistic approach to therapy. Alana finds that she connects well with clients that appreciate a more holistic viewpoint, and want less of a diagnostic and pathological approach to therapy. She would rather help you capitalize on strengths than focus on deficits or weaknesses.

Alana can help you process your past experiences and trauma, gain self awareness about your current habits, thoughts emotions and relationships, and connect the dots in a meaningful way that will help you find peace. Her goal is to give you the tools you need to heal and empower you to take part in your own healing journey!

If you have never tried therapy before and think that sounds up your alley, or have tried therapy before but it didn't feel like it "worked" or that they "got you", then working with Alana might be the right fit for you!
